What to expect...

Playa Larga is a big travel destination for divers, as it's not far from the coast with great diving spots, though anyone with a love for nature will enjoy Playa Larga. This smaller village is just next to one of the most important protected areas of Cuba, The Zapata Swamp. This wetland is a haven for hundreds of species of birds. Additionally, it is also home to the Cuban Crocodile, found only in Cuba. And of course for any history fans, the invasion at the Bay of Pigs happened here on the beaches of Playa Larga.

Itinerary

Located less than 200 km (124.2 miles) away from Havana and not much farther from Vinales, Playa Larga can easily be reached in one day. So get on your way to Playa Larga, a town not overflowing with tourists. Upon arrival, you'll notice that the beach is only a short walk away. So enjoy the beaches and town as you stay overnight in a Casa Particular, allowing you to see the Cuban way of living up close.

In the morning you will be met by your guide and accompanied on your trip to the Cueva de los Peces. 70 meters deep, this freshwater cave houses many colorful, tropical fish. So grab your snorkeling gear and explore the underwater world! After, you'll also have a short hike where you will hear interesting facts about the local flora and fauna.

Casa Particular

Today is your last day at Playa Larga, though should you wish to extend your stay, either for some diving or just to relax on the beach, we would be happy to assist you with those arrangements. Otherwise, feel free to visit nearby Cienfuegos, Santa Clara & Trinidad. Whatever you decide, we are sure that Playa Larga will leave you feeling rested and relaxed.
