The Nicoya peninsula of is well worth a visit; not only because of its 18 national parks, where you can see the untouched nature, but because of the beautiful beaches on the coasts of the island too. Montezuma is a small fishing village near the southern tip of the peninsula and the oldest natural reserve in Costa Rica. The Santa Teresa beach is a surf paradise. Throughout the year you'll find perfect conditions to plunge into the water, with perfect water temperature. You'll have two surf lessons here so you can really enjoy the waves.

Today you'll arrive in Montezuma. After you've settled in, you'll have time to explore the village and take a stroll along the beach. For dinner, treat yourself to a nice local dish at one of the many restaurants.

Take advantage of this free day to rest and relax as you'll be here for another few days. If you happen to be here on a Saturday, there is a lovely market to explore. Everything there is hand-made. Another great option is to take a hike to the Montezuma waterfall. Though the trail is a little steep and rough at times, it's worth the while. Today you'll be going from Montezuma to the oldest natural reserve in Costa Rica, Cabo Blanco. Founded in 1963, Cabo Blanco offers a great chance to explore both history and nature. Some wild animals native to this area include Jagarundi and Margays, two types of wild cats, and porcupines and monkeys. After this wonderful experience your trip will continue on to Santa Teresa. Spend your evening at the beach or a typical dinner, and if you happen to be here during a full moon, you're in luck! They'll be a full moon party for you to enjoy. Today you'll get a chance to really take advantage of the beaches in Santa Teresa. Throughout the year this beach is a surfers paradise.
