      As it's the capital of Mexico with the largest population in all of North America, a trip to Mexico City should not be skipped! It goes without mention that it is a center for politics and finance in Mexico, but it is also a center for Mexican culture. You will instantly be enthralled in the glamour, history and bustling lifestyle that surrounds this megatropolis city. Even though there's so much to do and see, we'll help you get a good feel of the city on your city tour on day 2. You'll see a lot of main attractions and learn about the city's history.       Day 1: Arrival

      Today you'll arrive in Mexico's capital city: large, loud, colorful and cheerful. Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy some authentic Mexican cuisine. The restaurants around the Plaza Garibaldi are particularly popular. Here, numerous mariachi bands gather with their instruments and traditional outfits every day, performing popular Mexican music you're sure to enjoy.

      Day 2: City Tour

      With so much to do and see, you'll need a few days to fully explore and experience this city. To help, you will have a city tour today. Here you'll visit the some of the most important landmarks in the historical center of the city, The Zócalo (or the Plaza de la Constitución), the Metropolitana Cathedral, and the remains of the Templo Mayor. Moving from the center, you'll take the Paseo de la Reforma road to the largest park in Mexico City, Bosque de Chapultec. Finally, you'll go to the Zona Rosa district, where many bars, cafes, clubs and restaurants are located in addition to museums and typical markets. As your tour ends here, feel free to stay and enjoy the evening with many things to do and see.

      Day 3: Departure

      Today is your last day in Mexico City. Be sure to take in the city one last time before moving on. There are so many exciting destinations in Mexico for you to see next. You can travel eastern to Tulum, or stop in nearby Oaxaca; however, if you feel that your stay in Mexico City was too short, you can also easily extend your stay here. We have great optional offers available if you are looking to fill your time.

        Teotihuacán und Guadalupe

        The past is always present in Mexico through many important archaeological and historical sites. Today you'll visit a few of these spots: Tlatelolco, Tenochtitlán, the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe and Teotihuacán. Transport yourself into another time and marvel at the great architecture and sights.

        Day Trip: Puebla und Cholula

        The colonial-style city of Puebla is a great stop for a day trip. Here you'll see a unique style of architecture known for its colorful tiles, especially apparent in the grand Puebla Cathedral in the central square. On the outskirts of town, you'll visit Cholula, known for the Great Pyramid, which is the largest pyramid known to exist today. Experience all this and more, along with great cuisine, such as the chocolate sauce, mole.

        Taxco und Cuernavaca

        Not only Alexander von Humboldt but also the Aztecs and the Mexicans of today use their free time, to get a break from the city life in Cuernavaca. The name "city of eternal spring" comes from the mild climate. During a panorama city tour you'll get to know all the different facets of the city. Your next destination is the colonial town Taxco. Already in the 16th century the Spanish started with the silver mining, which still remain one of the main source of income of the city. The handicrafts made from silver are famous around the world. You will see for yourself!

        National museum for anthropology

        It's one of the biggest museums of the country and one of the most significant in the world: the national musuem for anthropology. One day is not enough to visit all of the 23 halls. Decide before your visit, which topics you are interested in. The museum covers all of the history of Mexico: from Olmecs, Zapotecs, Toltecs, Mayas to the conquest and colonial period of time.
